YesMadam, a Noida-based home salon services company, is facing significant backlash online after reportedly terminating over 100 employees. The company allegedly conducted a mental health survey and subsequently fired workers who indicated feelings of stress.

According to a viral screenshot of an email, allegedly from the Human Resources manager at YesMadam, the company conducted a survey to assess employee stress levels. Based on the results, the company made the decision to terminate employees who were identified as experiencing “major stress.”

The email in the viral screenshot reads:

“Dear Team,

Recently, we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect.

As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback. To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress.
This decision is effective immediately, and impacted employees will receive further details separately.

Thank you for your contributions.
Best regards,
HR Manager, YesMadam”

Users’ Reactions

A Twitter user commented, “When you cannot solve the problem, end the people who complain about the problem @_yesmadam. They fired the staff who responded to an internal survey saying they felt stressed at work!!!!”

Another user remarked, “Imagine thinking one day, ‘Wow, HR is so concerned about my stress levels. They sent a survey to help me out.’ Next moment, you’re fired for being highly stressed. Employees should sue the company.”

Shitiz Dogra, Associate Director of Digital Marketing at IndiGo, also shared the screenshot on LinkedIn, questioning, “Can an organization fire you for being stressed? Looks like it just happened at a startup — YesMadam.”
