UPSC Prelims Result 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (USPC) is set to announce the UPSC Civil Services Prelims CSE Result 2025 soon. Candidates who appeared for the exams can access the civil services exam result 2025 via the official website upsc.gov.in. The official date has not been announced yet, however they are expected this week.

The UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 were held in May 2025 in two shifts with each shift spanning two hours. It consisted of two segments, General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2 or CSAT.

What next after clearing UPSC Prelims?

Candidates after they clear the UPSC Prelims will need to appear for the UPSC Mains after updating their Detailed Application Form. Followed by which, a Personal Interview round is conducted. That marks the final stage of your selection.

Once the selection is finalised, candidates progress for training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). For some specialisations, the course lasts between three weeks to two years.

IPS candidates start with a three-month foundation course at LBSNAA and then progress to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad.

Basic Pay of IAS, IPS Officers

Trainee IAS and IPS officers typically receive a monthly stipend of approximately ₹40,000, after deductions for expenses like mess and hostel fees, though their gross salary is Rs 56,000. Both services begin with the same pay scale. At the senior-most levels, an IAS officer can earn up to Rs 2,50,000 per month, while an IPS officer can draw a maximum of Rs 2,25,000, depending on their rank and years of service.

There are currently 979 UPSC Vacancies in 2025 that will be filled out by the commission.
