Motive, an AI-powered integrated operations platform, has announced plans to expand its research and development (R&D) team in India, with a goal of hiring over 300 engineers, product managers, and designers over the next two years. The expansion includes senior leadership roles and highlights India’s growing importance in the company’s global AI and technology strategy, according to an official press release.

As per the company officials, since establishing operations in India in 2020, Motive has grown its local workforce to nearly 250 employees. The team is involved in developing AI-driven enterprise software solutions for industries such as transportation, construction, energy, and field services. In line with IndiaAI’s mission, the company is also working on foundational AI models trained on diverse datasets.

Furthermore, Motive plans to add more than 20 AI engineers by the end of this year and more than 50 AI engineers by 2026. The India team is leading advancements in AI-powered fleet safety, including collision detection systems and AI-driven spend management tools that help reduce costs and prevent fraud. The company’s fleet management solutions use AI to analyse real-time vehicle and driver data, optimising operations and enhancing safety.

Alongside its hiring expansion, Motive is also strengthening its internship programmes in collaboration with IITs and IIITs, providing hands-on AI and software development experience. The company regularly offers full-time roles to top-performing interns as part of its talent acquisition strategy.

Motive’s expansion reflects a broader trend of global technology firms investing in India’s AI and engineering talent, reinforcing the country’s position as a key hub for innovation.
