The Department of Communications has opened the online application process for 44,228 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions in India Post. Candidates interested in applying for the Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), or Dak Sevak posts can do so at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The application deadline is August 5.

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years old. Reserved category candidates are eligible for upper age limit relaxation.

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed Class 10 or SSC with passing marks in Mathematics and English. They must also have studied the local language at least up to Class 10.

Other Requirements: Applicants need to have knowledge of computers, cycling, and adequate means of livelihood.

Selection Process:

– Candidates will be shortlisted based on a system-generated merit list derived from their Class 10 marks.

– The list of shortlisted candidates will be available on the GDS portal. Candidates will also receive notifications via SMS and email regarding the results and dates for physical verification.

– Shortlisted candidates must attend a designated authority for the physical verification of their documents.

Application Fee:

– The application fee for GDS recruitment is Rs 100. However, female applicants, SC/ST applicants, PwD applicants, and Transwomen applicants are exempt from paying the fee.

– Candidates should have scanned images of their photograph (not exceeding 50 kb) and signature (not exceeding 20 kb) in .jpg/.jpeg format before applying.
