Mohan Babu University established the ‘Smart Kitchen’ within its Tirupati Campus. It aims to enhance productivity, maintains hygiene and serves homely meals, all while optimiing efficiency and reducing food wastage, as per the official release.
Designed to cater more than 15,000 students, including those residing on campus, as well as faculty and staff of more than 900 concurrently. It can prepare 1000 kg of rice in an brief 9.2 minutes and has advanced roti-making machine, it added.
The Smart Kitchen is equipped with several functionalities, including automated washing, peeling, drying and cutting processes, effectively reducing the need for manual labour while expediting meal preparation.
Officials claims that the Smart Kitchen’s automation guarantees not only hygienic meals but also fosters sustainability and cost-effectiveness. With its sophisticated auto quantity selection system, it can adjusts servings based on the number of diners (PAX), effectively reducing waste and optimising resource utilisation.
“We take immense pride in being the pioneers in India to introduce a Smart Kitchen of this calibre, built to meet and even exceed international standards. The recognition by Golden Books of World Records as the Largest Automated Cooking Facility is a remarkable testament to our dedication and innovation,” Vinay Maheshwari, executive director, Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust, said.
