The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has unveiled an addition to its library, marking the 77th Indian Foreign Service Day, a special corner dedicated to writings penned by Indian diplomats, a tribute to their literary contributions, as per the official announcement.
Over the years, poet-diplomat Abhay K. has compiled a comprehensive list of books authored by Indian diplomats, spanning the entire history of the Indian Foreign Service. This valuable collection is publicly accessible, it added.
Situated in Manipal of Karnataka, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education claims to stand as a bastion of advanced learning. Its multi-storied library, frequented by international students from diverse nations, aims to serve as a hub for knowledge seekers.
In celebration of the 77th Indian Foreign Service Day, MAHE established this literary corner for writings by Indian diplomats. The aim is to offer students a treasure trove of insights, encompassing a wide array of subjects, from statecraft and foreign policy to the realms of poetry, novels and memoirs.
“We are delighted to announce on the occasion of 77th Indian Foreign Service Day to create a special corner for writings by Indian diplomats. I think our students will greatly benefit from reading these books which cover a variety of subjects from statecraft, foreign policy to poetry, novels and memoirs,” Abhay K, Manipal poet-diplomat, said.
The Indian Diplomats’ Writing Corner seems to be a dynamic and evolving space, periodically updated in consultation with the IFS Association and the Association of Indian Diplomats.
“Indian diplomats have contributed significantly in creating a better understanding about India in the world and a better understanding of the world in India through their writings. As we celebrate the 77th IFS Day today, it’s a matter of great pride and satisfaction to learn that Manipal Academy of Higher Education has decided to create a special corner at its library in Manipal to honour the rich legacy of writings by Indian diplomats,” MD Venkatesh, Lt. Gen. VC, MAHE, said.
