The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in partnership with Ethnotech Academic Solutions Pvt Ltd based in Bengaluru, inaugurated the Centre for Future Skills in Kalaburagi, Karnataka. This platform aims to enhance the youth’s proficiency in future skills. By amalgamating conventional education with contemporary learning methods, this platform addresses the skill gap and enhances internship and employability opportunities in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It provides an enabling environment for acquiring futuristic skills, enabling individuals to gain global recognition and certification in their chosen domains, according to an official release.

Moreover, the Centre will play a pivotal role in advancing digital skills in India by offering short-term, fee-based certification courses in emerging technologies such as AI, ML, Robotics, etc. In collaboration with global corporations like Microsoft, CISCO, AWS, Schneider, among others. It claims to prioritise collaboration with industry experts to offer a comprehensive learning experience, equipping students with the necessary skills to thrive in a constantly evolving global landscape, the release mentioned.

“The inauguration of the NSDC’s Centre for Future Skills marks a significant stride in advancing skill development and education in our nation. These skill development centres, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies, are instrumental in preparing the youth for a future of work that aligns seamlessly with the visionary goal of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to position India as the global hub of skilled human resources,” Subhas Sarkar, minister of State for Higher Education, Government of India, said,

The educational policy advocates for a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach, emphasising the fusion of theoretical knowledge with practical skills. This initiative exemplifies how institutions can proactively implement the principles outlined in the NEP, focusing on establishing a flexible and dynamic education system to prepare students for the challenges of the ever-changing job market.

NSDC claims to have been actively collaborating with various institutions, partners, business leaders and financial intermediaries to foster synergies for expanding the skill ecosystem. It remains dedicated to introducing new and innovative products to ensure the holistic and sustainable growth of the skill ecosystem, it added.
