The Joint Entrance Examination for admission to Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and Government-Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Every year, JoSAA performs about six rounds of counseling. The similar admissions process is used by NIT Goa, which also provides PhD and postgraduate engineering programs in addition to undergraduate engineering degrees.
For admission to NIT Goa, 10% of the seats are set aside for applicants whose home state is the Union Territory of Daman and Diu, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, or Lakshadweep, and 50% of the seats are set aside for the other state quota. Of the 40% of seats available, 40% are reserved for applicants who are domiciled in Goa and took their class 12 exams there.
NIT Goa 2023 CSE Cut-off Round 1
The 2023 NIT Goa CSE admission opening cut-off rankings have increased for open category, unreserved seats for applicants from other states. The cut-off for open category seats increased from 7187 in 2022 to 6763 in 2023. For the female category, the opening rank is 15118.
NIT Goa 2022 CSE Cut-off Round 1
Previously, in 2022, the round 1 cut off for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) was set to be at 7187, while for OBC students the required rank was 3198 which closed at 3328.
An Institute of National Importance, NIT Goa was founded in 2010 as a result of a parliamentary statute (the NIT statute 2007). The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, oversees the autonomy of the National Institute of Technology Goa. Students in the engineering, applied sciences, and numerous other areas can take UG, PG, and PhD courses at Goa NIT through its seven departments. According to NIRF 2023’s BTech rankings, the NIT Goa campus is placed 90.
Admission at NIT Goa is primarily entrance-based. Students are chosen based on results from several national admission exams, such as JEE Main, GATE, etc. The Joint Seat distribution Authority’s (JoSAA) counseling process for seat distribution determines the ultimate selection for the BTech program.
