The decision to revise the scorecards came after the Supreme Court examined the NTA’s prior decision to grant additional marks to some pupils. These students answered a Physics question wrongly based on an incorrect reference in their outdated Class 12 NCERT science textbook. This issue sparked widespread debate and calls for the exam to be retaken.
However, the Supreme Court rejected the petitions for the NEET-UG 2024 exam to be cancelled and retaken. The court concluded that there was insufficient evidence to show that the exam’s integrity had been compromised on a systemic level. As a result, the NTA revised the scorecards without any disturbances.
