The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the re-revised results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 after addressing the controversy over a physics question. In the updated results, the cut-off for general category candidates has decreased from 720-164, as initially announced on June 4, to 720-162. The all India rank 1 is shared by 17 students, each scoring a 99.9992714 percentile.
For candidates in the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories, the NEET UG cut-off is set between 161-127. For SC, ST, and OBC-PH candidates, the cut-off ranges from 143-127.
The NEET cut-off for MBBS and BDS programs is the 50th percentile for general category aspirants, and the 40th percentile for OBC, SC, and ST candidates. The NTA determines the NEET UG percentile based on the highest scores in the all-India common merit list for NEET UG 2024.
This year, a total of 24,06,079 students registered for the medical entrance test, with 23,33,162 appearing. Out of those, 13,15,853 students qualified. According to NTA data released on July 26, of the qualified students, 5,46,566 are male, 7,69,277 are female, and 10 are transgender.
Following the announcement of the re-revised results, the dates for the all-India quota (AIQ) seat counselling for NEET UG 2024 will likely be announced soon. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) have yet to update the NEET counselling 2024 schedule.
