NEET UG 2021 Exam Date: The undergraduate National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2021 will be held across the country on September 12, 2021. The date was announced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Also, the registration process for the NEET UG 2021 has started from 5 pm today through the NTA website(s). Earlier on Monday, Pradhan said that it will be made sure that all Covid-appropriate behaviour is followed during the exam. To ensure norms of social distancing, the government has decided to increase the number of cities where exams will be conducted. Pradhan said the number of such cities has been increased to 198 to from 155.

“The number of examination centres will also be increased from the 3862 centres used in 2020,” Pradhan was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

“To ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols, face mask will be provided to all candidates at the centre. Staggered time slots during entry and exit, contactless registration, proper sanitisation, seating with social distancing etc. will also be ensured,” the minister said.

Earlier, the NEET exam was scheduled for August 1, 2021. Meanwhile, lakhs of NEET aspirants have been demanding the postponement of the exam this year. They are of the view that the situation is not favorable for conducting a physical examination.

There are others who are demanding that the exam for admission to undergraduate medical courses must be conducted twice or thrice this year. But Ministry of Education’s National Testing Agency (NTA) has categorically refused to do so.

It must be noted that the NEET 2020 exam was also postponed in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
