Lighthouse Learning, a K-12 education group and York College of Pennsylvania in the United States (US) have officially entered into a three-year partnership, as announced in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. This collaboration is designed to enrich the educational journey of students, providing enhanced opportunities for academic growth, access to higher education pathways, and the chance to secure scholarships, according to an official release.

Within this collaboration, students affiliated with Lighthouse Learning will benefit from annual interdisciplinary learning workshops facilitated by the faculty at York College. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to compete for scholarships and explore the diverse array of programmes available at the college, the release mentioned.

By offering access to diverse learning experiences and an array of scholarships, we are not only reshaping the educational landscape but also providing our students with the tools to unlock their full potential,” Prajodh Rajan, co-founder, group CEO, Lighthouse Learning, said.

York College, claims to boast a comprehensive selection of more than 70 majors spanning professional fields, Sciences, Arts and Humanities. The College’s diverse offerings include STEM programmes, Pre-Medical Sciences, Film and Media Arts, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Cybersecurity Management, Environmental and Sustainability Studies, among others, as per the release.

As outlined in the MoU, students who complete a minimum of two academic years at secondary schools operated by Lighthouse Learning will be eligible to apply for a guaranteed $9,000 merit scholarship per academic year throughout their four-year programme. Additionally, these students can pursue non-guaranteed, competitive-based scholarships provided by York College. Notable options include the James L. Mohatt Excellence in Music Scholarship, Vincent Risley Scholarship, Eisenhart Community Scholars and Presidential Research Fellowship. These scholarships present deserving students with the opportunity to advance their education and turn their academic aspirations into reality, it added.
