The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon close the window for candidates to raise objections against the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main answer key for the January 2025 session. The provisional answer keys for JEE Main 2025 are available on the NTA’s official websites: nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can submit their objections until February 6, 2025, by 11:50 PM.

To challenge an answer, candidates must pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per question. The final answer key will be released after reviewing all grievances raised by candidates. The results for JEE Main 2025 Session 1 are expected to be announced by February 12, 2025.

If a candidate’s challenge is found to be valid, the JEE Main 2025 January exam answer key will be revised and applied uniformly to all candidates. The final results will be prepared based on the revised answer key. However, individual candidates will not be notified about the acceptance or rejection of their challenges. The final answer key, as determined by experts after resolving all challenges, will be considered conclusive, according to the NTA.

The first session of JEE Main 2025 was conducted from January 22 to 30, 2025.

JEE Main 2025 marking scheme

The JEE Main question paper is divided into two sections: Section A and Section B. Each subject will have these two sections.

– Section A consists of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

– Section B includes questions where answers must be filled in as numerical values.

Negative marking applies to both sections:

– Correct answer: +4 marks

– Incorrect answer: -1 mark

For questions left unanswered or marked for review, no marks will be awarded.

Special cases in marking:

1. If more than one option is correct, candidates who have marked any of the correct options will be awarded +4 marks.

2. If all options are correct, +4 marks will be awarded to all candidates who attempted the question.

3. If a question is found to be incorrect, dropped, or none of the options are correct, full marks will be awarded to all candidates who appeared for the exam, regardless of whether they attempted the question or not.
