The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has announced the revised Class 12 annual examination result for 2025, increasing the overall pass percentage from 83.16% to 88.64%. This improvement follows a re-evaluation process after an error was found in the evaluation of the English subject.

According to the revised data, 76,315 students have passed the exam, which is 5,724 more than the earlier count of 71,591. The board identified that OMR answer sheets from a cancelled English paper were mistakenly scanned, leading to incorrect marks being added to the students’ final scores. Upon discovering the error, HPBOSE decided to re-check the English subject marks to ensure accuracy.

Board officials clarified that the re-evaluation benefits only students. In cases where re-marking results in lower scores, students will retain their original marks. Only increased marks will be updated in the final result.

The initial Class 12 result was declared earlier this month with a pass percentage of 83.16%. The merit list featured 75 toppers, including 61 girls and 14 boys, with Mehak from Una district securing the top position in the state.

To pass the exam, students must secure at least 33% marks in theory, practical, and overall aggregate.
