CBSE 12th result 2017: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday, May 23 was ordered by the Delhi HC to continue with the grace marks policy, this command by the High Court came as a major relief to the students as now they have a chance to secure more marks. Under the ‘moderation policy’ of CBSE, grace marks were awarded to students for difficult questions. A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Pratibha M Singh passed the interim order on a PIL filed by a parent and a lawyer contending that the policy should not be done away with this year, as decided by some states, since it would affect the students of Class 12, particularly those who have applied for admissions abroad.
Earlier on the same day, the Delhi HC slammed CBSE for looking to scrap the moderation policy. The high court bench called CBSE’s decision “unfair and irresponsible” and further added that it “would have a drastic effect on the students.” The law making body also said that the Central Board of Secondary Education cannot make any new reforms in the policy as the results for the 2016-17 session are to be announced in a few days.
According to an earlier notification on indiaresults.com the board was likely to announce the class 12th results on May 24th and class 10th results on June 2nd, but after this new order to CBSE by the High Court, there is no intimation about the result declaration date and students have been left dismayed. In the year 2016 the 12th results were declared on May 21st and class 10th on May 28th.
