CAT aspirants can now test their preparation with official mock test series introduced by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow on November 14. The authorities released official practice tests on their website, iimcat.ac.in, and it’s good news for all those gearing up for the B-school entrance exam.
This mock test is like a trial run, giving candidates a taste of what the real deal will be like. It’s a chance for them to get a feel for the test environment, check their speed and accuracy, and understand the types of questions that might pop up.
But here’s the important part: just because you see certain questions in this practice test doesn’t mean you’ll see the exact same ones in CAT 2023. In an official statement the authorities have clearly directed students by saying, “The Mock Test contains selected questions from previous years’ Common Admission Test (CAT) papers with an aim to familiarize the candidates with different types of questions generally asked in CAT (MCQs/ Non-MCQs) and the exam console…The objective of this Mock Test is not to disclose the exam pattern for CAT 2023 and the actual exam may or may not contain similar type or number of questions.”
The mock exam will be similar to actual CAT exams, the mock test will take 120 minutes, split into three 40-minute sections. That’s a good simulation of the actual CAT, which also spans 120 minutes. If you’re a candidate with disabilities, you get an extra 40 minutes.
And if you’re looking to dive into these practice tests, there are separate links for candidates with disabilities and those without. So, mark your calendars: CAT 2023 is on the horizon, set for November 26, 2023.
