AIADMK might out-rightly term Jayalalithaa’s murder allegations as baseless, but these, now hyped and spiced-up with Sasikala’s clan’s blotted history and secrecy around Amma’s treatment have stood up as biggest headache for Chinnamma. The entire party leadership has credited Sasikala’s loyalty and closeness to Jayalalithaa for her elevation. Now that party own people like PH Pandian and Sasikala Pushpa are raising doubts, the opposition voices are getting stronger only. In clear terms, Pandian, a founding member of party alleged, “Sasikala cheated us and wants to be the chief minister,” Pandian said at a press conference at his home here. We oppose it,” he said. He went on to allege: “There is no need for a postmortem. Even circumstantial evidence is enough.” Followed him was Sasikala Pushpa, who reminded to the people 2011 incident when Jaya had banished several people from Mannargudi, and asked “How a person whose family was accused by Jayalalithaa of trying to kill her can went on to replace her.”

While Pushpa’s allegations were termed as sabotage for her bitter past with Jaya, Pandian has been a veteran AIADMKian and former speaker whose allegations couldn’t be taken lightly. From day one, there have been rumours about Sasikala Natrajan and her family mishandling the situation inside Apollo, with almost all in the political circles firmly believing that not everything exact about Amma’s was told to people via pressers. Then came actress Gautami’s letter demanding a thorough probe in Jaya’s death. The timing of Jaya’s doctor, Richard Beale’s press conference giving out the details of her illness, was also suspicious, moreover it only tells that a wave of negative sentiments exist among masses which needed to be addressed.

More and more people have spoken against Sasikala after she was elected the new CM-designate. With Sofia Ashraf’s rap-protest, Ravichandran Ashwin allegorical tweet, Tamil film actor-director T Rajendar’s press conference, Sasikala’s credibility as Tamil Nadu CM has already taken a massive hit. The questions over Sasikala’s qualifications for CM are being raised vis-a-vis with rumours about Mannargudi mishandling the situation inside Apollo.

There is no denying the fact that Sasikala or “Chinnamma”, was the closest aide to Jaya and who had a firm control on party affairs, but her elevation to CM’s chair lacks legitimacy from people, an allegation made on her from all who have . With the top party leadership still supporting her elevation, Sasikala might not face any technical difficulty in becoming the CM. Currently, social media is abuzz with anti-Sasikala tweets and memes mocking her leadership, it has become evident that at least a subtle section of masses are resonating to the idea that Sasikala is not the fittest person for CMship.

Jayalalithaa’s Doctor Dispels Rumors, Says Death Due To Multiple Organ Failure

With AIADMK’s harried decision to elevate Sasikala as CM with multiple questions to be answered, she is all set to face the tough challenge from MK Stalin-led DMK, who will surely harp on the rumours about her involvement in Jaya’s fate. Even non-substantial allegations can prove to be destructive for VK Sasikala. As said by Jeseph Gabriel, “if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually start believing it.”
