Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress leader Kamal Nath on Saturday joined Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, amid speculations that the former could join the BJP.
Nath has dismissed the speculations saying that it is only media creation.
The yatra on Saturday entered Madhya Pradesh’s Morena from Rajasthan’s Dholpur. In Morena, Rahul took out a roadshow and addressed a gathering at around 3 pm.
Veteran Congress leaders including Digvijaya Singh, Kaman Nath and his son Nakul Nath, who is also speculated to join the saffron party, were present at the event, along with the party’s new crop of leaders, including state unit president Jitu Patwari and Opposition leader Umang Singhar.
Sharing a picture along with Rahul Gandhi, Nath, in a post on X wrote, “Today, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra received a warm welcome from the people of Morena and Gwalior. The ease and rapport with which our leader, Rahul Gandhi, engaged with the public, particularly the youth, was evident and unparalleled.”
“Highlighting the challenges faced by the youth in the Gwalior Chambal region, who aspire to join the armed forces but are hindered by the Agniveer Yojana, Rahul Gandhi addressed this issue with utmost seriousness. He emerges as the foremost advocate for the protection of the rights of Dalits, backward classes, and tribals in society. Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers is unwavering. As the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra progresses through Madhya Pradesh, the chorus for social justice grows louder,” the ex-MP added.
“We stand united with Rahul, united for justice,” Nath said.
Addressing the gathering, Kamal Nath also spoke about Gandhi’s mission to propagate “peace and love”.
“In the coming months, we anticipate an election, but this is not just any election. It’s pivotal for the future of our youth and farmers. This marks Rahul’s second yatra in Madhya Pradesh, and what is his message? It resonates with the essence of our nation’s culture – love and peace. Rahul Gandhi’s objective is clear: securing a prosperous future for the next generation,” Nath said.
In the evening, the yatra proceeded to Gwalior, where Rahul Gandhi led yet another roadshow, with Nath by his side.
