Investigations into Thursday night’s tragic accident in Vadodara’s Karelibaug, which left a woman dead and seven others injured, have uncovered crucial CCTV footage revealing a last-minute driver swap. The footage suggests that Pranshu Chauhan, initially behind the wheel, moved to the passenger seat at the insistence of the accused, Rakshit Chaurasiya.

According to the timestamped footage, Chaurasiya arrived at a friend’s residence, Suresh Bharwad, on a scooter at 10:33 PM. Chauhan followed, driving the car involved in the accident, at 10:47 PM.

At 11:03 PM, the duo left Bharwad’s residence. The footage shows Chauhan taking the driver’s seat first, while Chaurasiya approached from behind. However, moments later, Chauhan shifted to the front passenger seat without stepping out of the vehicle, allowing Chaurasiya to assume control of the car.

Shortly after, the vehicle sped toward the Sangam area before recklessly mowing down three two-wheelers in Karelibaug, killing one in the accident. Authorities believe the driver switch played a critical role in the incident and further investigations are underway to determine responsibility.
