The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has issued a strong warning to those who may “underestimate” their potential in the upcoming Haryana elections, suggesting such misjudgment would lead to regret. During a press conference, AAP’s national secretary for organisation, Sandeep Pathak, asserted that the party is fully prepared to contest all 90 seats in the state, despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding their alliance with the Congress.

“We are ready and waiting for the party’s command. Once we receive the green signal, we will announce everything. We are determined to contest with full strength across all seats and those who doubt us now will regret it in the future,” Pathak asserted.

The alliance negotiations between AAP and Congress have reportedly stalled due to disagreements over seat-sharing. AAP is asking for 10 seats, while Congress is offering between five to seven, according to insiders.

The Haryana elections are scheduled for October 5, with the nomination deadline set for September 12.

Earlier, AAP’s chief national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar expressed optimism, saying talks were still in progress and a resolution could be reached. “Discussions are ongoing, so it’s too early to comment,” Kakkar remarked when questioned about the number of seats AAP would contest in case of an alliance with Congress.

Meanwhile, AAP has been actively campaigning in Haryana. Sunita Kejriwal, wife of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, is scheduled to address public gatherings in the state on Saturday. “We are ready to contest all 90 seats,” Kakkar reiterated.

On Friday, AAP sources suggested that alliance talks with Congress were close to collapsing. As a result, AAP is considering running candidates in 50 seats for the Haryana assembly elections and may release its first list of candidates on Sunday.

Previously, AAP and Congress had contested the Lok Sabha elections together in Haryana, Gujarat, and Delhi as part of the INDIA bloc. In Haryana, AAP fielded a candidate for the Kurukshetra seat, but their state unit chief, Sushil Gupta, lost to BJP’s Navin Jindal.
