Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came down heavily on Pakistani and Bangladeshi refugees on Friday for causing a ruckus in the country as they staged protests against the INDIA bloc. He accused the BJP of endangering the nation’s stability for the sake of their vote bank politics.
Refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan staged protests outside the Congress headquarters against the INDIA alliance and Congress leaders’ remarks regarding the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). During the demonstration in Delhi, the protesting refugees even breached barricades while expressing their dissent against the INDIA bloc leaders.
Taking to his official handle on X, Delhi CM posted, “The audacity of these Pakistanis? First, they infiltrated our country illegally and broke our country’s laws. They should have been in jail. Do they have so much courage that they are protesting and creating a ruckus in our country?” he questioned.

“After the CAA, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis will spread across the country and harass people. In the selfish interest of making them their vote bank, the BJP is pushing the entire country into trouble,” he added.
Following the notification of rules for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) by the government, both the Congress and the INDIA bloc have raised questions regarding the timing of this announcement.
Earlier, Kejriwal raising concerns about the CAA, stated that the implementation might lead to increased migration compared to the post-independence period. Kejriwal warned of potential law and order challenges, predicting a rise in crimes such as thefts, robberies, and rapes.
On the contrary, the Congress also queried the Centre for the delayed implementation of the CAA, questioning why it took more than four years for the government to take action, particularly given its timing just one month before the Lok Sabha elections.
“We are raising the issues of farmers, youth, women & labourers. What are BJP’s issues? What are PM Modi’s issues? He does not talk about the 10 years of injustice…They have only one weapon in this election, & that is polarization…The CAA rule is made after 4 years and 3 months…Now that only a month is left for the elections, they are giving a dose of polarization…” Congress Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh stated.
On March 11, the Union Home Ministry issued the rules for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was introduced by the Narendra Modi government and passed by Parliament in 2019. The CAA aims to grant Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who arrived in India before December 31, 2014.
