Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Lasya Nanditha was killed in a road accident on Friday morning at Patancheru near Hyderabad city in Telangana.

The incident occurred at around 5.30 am when the car she was travelling in collided with a metal crash barrier on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), leading to her untimely demise, police told PTI.

The 36-year-old legislator from Secunderabad Cantonment (SC) was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The car’s driver also sustained injuries in the accident, officials said.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his remorse over the death of MLA Lasya Nanditha on his social media handle. He wrote on X, “The untimely death of Cantonment legislator Lasya Nanditha has left me deeply shocked. I had a close relationship with Nanditha’s father, Swargiya Sayanna. He passed away in the same month last year… It is very sad that Nanditha also died suddenly in the same month. “

“My deepest condolences to their family… I pray to God to rest her soul in peace,” he added.

BRS president Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) expressed shock upon hearing the news of their MLA’s passing.

“Just now heard the absolutely tragic & shocking news that Lasya is no more!! Woke up to the devastating loss of the young legislator who was a very good leader in the making. My heartfelt prayers for strength to her family and friends in this terrible & difficult time,” he wrote on X.
