The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) may see their 2016 annual convention happen in South India in the state of Tamil Nadu. Pandian K, chairman, IATO Tamil Nadu, Andaman & Nicobar and Puducherry Chapter stated that the team has been working relentlessly to bring the convention to the state of Tamil Nadu.

In an exclusive with Express TravelWorld, he mentioned that the current team in the tourism department has been highly proactive and they are only hoping that the convention finally takes place in the region. The discussions are at the final stages and he seems hopeful that the state may host the 2016 annual convention. Adding further, Pandian also mentioned that the IATO team is also very keen to hold the convention in Tamil Nadu and in Chennai as the state does have a lot to offer in terms of inbound tourism that needs to be showcased.
