A day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged a “BJP conspiracy” in the AAP MP Swati Maliwal assault case, the party on Saturday released a video that showed Maliwal being escorted out of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.
The purported video is from the day when Maliwal alleged that she was assaulted by Bibhav Kumar, aide of Kejriwal. Kumar was arrested by Delhi Police on Sunday from the CM’s residence.
AAP posted the latest video on X along with another video purportedly showing Maliwal walking inside Tees Hazari Court. “The video exposes the truth behind Swati Maliwal’s allegations,” AAP said in the post in Hindi.
In her FIR, Maliwal alleged that she was slapped seven to eight times, and kicked on the chest, stomach and pelvis area. The Delhi Police on Thursday registered an FIR in connection with the case and named Kumar as an accused.
However, a purported video taken from a mobile phone, that went viral on social media on Friday showed Maliwal sitting on the sofa and threatening security personnel. She can be heard saying one person that if he even touches her, she would get him terminated from office.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Atishi said that Maliwal is in touch with BJP leaders and that if the Delhi Police does a thorough and impartial probe, “everything will be clear”.
Atishi claimed that Maliwal, who is facing arrest in an illegal recruitment case, is being “blackmailed” by the BJP to become part of the “conspiracy” against the Chief Minister.
Talking to PTI-Video, she said, “The BJP has a pattern. First they file cases and then threaten to send leaders to jail. Swati Maliwal is facing charges in an illegal recruitment case registered by the Anti-Corruption Branch. An FIR has been registered in the case and it is at a stage where she could be arrested.
“The BJP blackmailed Maliwal and made her the face of this conspiracy,” the AAP leader charged.
“Her call records should be looked into and analysed (to see) which BJP leaders she was in touch with,” she said.
