The party bagged 31 out of 32 seats in the Sikkim Assembly, the latest data by the Election Commission of India said. Counting of votes for 32 assembly seats in Sikkim began at 6 am on Sunday, amid tight security arrangements. Chief Minister and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate Prem Singh Tamang won over his nearest SDF rival Som Nath Poudyal from the Rhenock assembly constituency.

The counting of votes for the Sikkim Assembly Elections is complete, with the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), led by CM Prem Singh Tamang, emerging victorious by securing 31 out of 32 Assembly seats. The Sikkim Democratic Front secures 1 seat.

SKM bags 21 seats, as of information available on ECI till 1.13 PM. the SDF has so far only won one seat.
SDF candidate Enzing Norbu Lamtha won from Shyari seat bagging 6,633 votes.
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha candidate Kunga Nima Lepcha lost from the seat.

Chief Minister and candidate of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Prem Singh Tamang won by a margin of over 7,000 votes beating his closest rival, Som Nath Poudyal of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) from the Rhenock assembly constituency. Tamang bagged 10,094 votes.
Chief Minister and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) candidate Prem Singh Tamang is leading by 2,052 votes over his nearest SDF rival A D Subba in the Soreng Chakung Assembly constituency.
Sikkim BJP unit president Dilli Ram Thapa was trailing behind his SKM rival Kala Rai by 2,568 votes in the Upper Burtuk Assembly constituency, according to ECI data at 10.38 AM. SKM candidate trails by 4,700 votes.
SDF candidate Tenzing Norbu Lamtha is leading from the Shyari Assembly seat in Sikkim. Kunga Nima Lepcha trails by over 1,300 votes, as per ECI data as of 10 35 AM.
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha candidate Pintso Lepcha registers first win from Djongu constituency in Sikkim. He won by over 5,000 votes and defeated Sikkim Democratic Front candidate Sonam Gyatso Lepcha.
SDF candidate and former CM Pawan Kumar Chamling is trailing behind Bhoj Raj Rai of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) by a margin of over 2,800 votes in the Poklok Kamrang Assembly constituency, as of 9 54 AM, as per ECI trends.
In the Barfung Assembly seat, Bhaichung Bhutia, the former Indian football captain and candidate of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), was behind his SKM rival Riksal Dorjee Bhutia by a margin of over 4,000 votes, as of 9 40 AM, according to ECI data.

According to initial trends available on the Election Commission's website, the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) was leading in 29 out of the 32 assembly seats in Sikkim, while the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) was ahead in one constituency. The counting process was underway on Sunday at one location each in all six districts of the state.
In 2019 Sikkim Assembly Election, the SKM secured a majority with 17 seats, leading to Prem Singh Tamang becoming the Chief Minister. The incumbent SDF was reduced to 15 seats. In the 2014 Sikkim Assembly Election, the SDF won 22 seats, and Pawan Kumar Chamling became Chief Minister for the fifth consecutive time.
Sikkim recorded a voter percentage of 79.88 per cent in the Assembly Election 2024. It was recorded at 81.43 per cent in the Assembly Election 2019.
The primary battle in Sikkim is between the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) and the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have a minor presence in state politics. Prem Singh Tamang has been serving as the Chief Minister of Sikkim since 2019.

In the 2019 elections, SKM ended the 25-year rule of the SDF, despite the latter polling more votes. The SKM emerged victorious with 17 seats against 15 of the SDF, marking a significant political shift in the state.
