BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, requesting the initiation of privilege proceedings against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his recent speech in Parliament.

In his letter, Dubey accused Gandhi of “shamelessly distorting historical and substantive facts” during his address, alleging that his remarks attempted to ridicule the country and undermine the prestige of the Indian Republic.

“His statements were not only misleading but also aimed at lowering the dignity of our Parliament and democracy,” Dubey wrote, urging strict action against the Congress leader.

Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Lok Sabha has triggered sharp reactions from the BJP, with multiple party leaders slamming him for what they call a “deliberate attempt to misrepresent facts and mislead the public”.
