Karnatak minister, BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan made a stirring statement that sparked controversy. Declaring that he was ready to “go to Pakistan with a suicide bomb strapped” to him to launch an attack. In wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, this react spread like wild fire on social media and caught strong reactions from his political peers.
The minister’s statement was followed by the “barbaric and inhuman act” against innocent civilians, as per Zameer. He said, “If Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah allow me, I’m ready to go to Pakistan with a suicide bomb strapped to me and launch an attack.” He went on to express his strong opinion about the attack and said that every Indian must unite in the face of terrorism, following the attack.

However, this aggressive stand was not met well and contrasted with Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah. He lobbied for a diplomatic approach against armed retaliation from India to Pakistan. Following the Pahalgam terror attack the statement from the Chief Minister read, “War is not the solution. It will only lead to more loss of life on both sides. We must act with wisdom and focus on national interest, not emotional outbursts.”
Nearly ten days ago the Pahalgam terror attack took over 20 innocent lives. A group of four armed terrorist entered the valley and opened fire on tourists based on religion. While this has further damaged the Indo-pak relations, the countries are in a total state of hostility. Earlier today, India has announced an immediate ban on the direct or indirect import of all goods from Pakistan. Basic infrastructure like water, air-transport and internet are stake with an ongoing airspace restriction and cyber-war.
