Churu in Rajasthan recorded 50.5 degree celsius on Tuesday, May 28 and with it the city became the hottest city in India, as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Haryana’s Sirsa is at second position with 50.3 degree celsius, just 0.2 degree celsius less than Churu. Next on the list is Delhi’s Mungeshpur, where the highest temperature on May 28 was recorded at 49.9 degree celsius.
Jhansi is at the fourth position in this list. The city recorded 49 degree celsius. Prithvipur, a place in Madhya Pradesh’s Niwari, is next in the list as the highest temperature recorded in the city was 48.5 degree celsius.
The list is then followed by Daltonganj in Jharkhand and Punjab’s Bhatinda with 47.5, 47.2 degree celsius, respectively. Next on the list is 47 degree celsius, and Bihar’s Dehri and Chhattisgarh’s Mungeli recorded this temperature.
Boudh in Odisha is the tenth hottest city with 45.9 degree celsius while Wardha in Vidarbha is next in the list. Wardha recorded its highest temperature today at 45.2 degree celsius.
Temperature in Delhi
On Tuesday, May 28, the temperature in Delhi, the capital of India, reached an all-time high of 49.9 degrees Celsius. Severe heatwave conditions have been reported in a number of places, including Mungeshpur, Najafgarh and Narela, where recorded temperatures have reached 49.9, 49.8, and 49.9 degree celsius, respectively.
Pitampura, Pusa and Jafarpur had maximum temperatures of 48.5 and 48.6 degree celsius, respectively. The maximum temperatures in other regions, including Safdarjung, Palam, CHO, Ridge and Ayanagar, were also recorded between 45 and 48 degree celsius.
