The Rajya Sabha later adopted a resolution to suspend O’Brien from the Upper House for the remaining part of the session. Similar scenes played out in the Lok Sabha when the House reconvened at 2 PM and the five Opposition MPs were suspended following the passage of a resolution in the Lower House to this effect. Rajya Sabha was also adjourned till 3 PM as O’Brien continued to remain present in the House despite directions by the Chairman to the contrary.
