The Panipat Thermal Power Station-2 (PTPS-2) of Haryana Power Generation Corporation (HPGCL) achieved a record generation of 233.07 lakh units of power on December 10 at a plant load factor (PLF) of 105.56%, which is the highest ever achieved by the power station.

A spokesman of HPGCL said the PTPS-2 which comprises 2×210 mw and 2×250 mw thermal units, had bettered its own record of power generation of 230.53 lakh units at a PLF of 104.41% achieved on November 05, by generating around 2.5 lakh more units of electricity in a single day.

He said the trend of performance continues and on December 13 also, the 250 mw Unit-8 of this power station achieved a record PLF of 106.97% with zero oil consumption, which is the highest ever PLF achieved by any unit of HPGCL. The previous best PLF achieved by this unit was 106.27%.
