It was a cool day in the national capital on Monday under cloudy skies following overnight rain as the maximum temperature settled four notches below normal.
According to the MeT department, further showers accompanied by thundershowers may occur in some parts of the city till Monday’s midnight.
The Safdarjung observatory, which provides the official reading for the city, recorded 11.2-mm rainfall, while the areas under Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Ayanagar weather stations reported 10.6-mm, 20.6-mm, 9-mm and 8.6-mm rainfall, respectively.
The maximum settled four notches below the season’s average at 29.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded a notch above the normal at 19.9 degrees.
Humidity in air oscillated between 57 and 91 per cent.
“The skies will be partly cloudy on Tuesday. There will be mist in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 31 and 17 degrees, respectively,” the MeT office said.
