Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) interfered in all development works in Maharashtra, including works of the Samruddhi Expressway. He also claimed that MVA will stop the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme, if it comes to power.

Kicking off his campaign trail from Dhule district in Maharashtra ahead of the polls, Modi told the crowd, “All of this got better after the Mahayuti came to power.”

All the 288 Assembly constituencies in Maharashtra will vote in a single phase on November 20 and counting of votes will be held on November 23.

“I assure you that the pace at which Maharashtra’s development has gained in the last two-and-a-half years will not be allowed to stop,” Modi said.

The prime minister said that only the BJP-led Mahayuti government can provide the good governance that Maharashtra needs. The Congress was in power simultaneously at Centre and in Maharashtra but never felt the need for Marathi to be given the status of classical language, Modi said.

“A dangerous game of pitting one caste against another is being played by the Congress as that party can never see Dalits, backward classes and tribals progressing,” the PM added.
