Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari criticised Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly adopting BJP’s strategies, especially regarding financial assistance to women.

Tiwari pointed out that while Kejriwal’s government has been in power for a decade, it is only now, as its tenure nears its end, that substantial benefits for women are being introduced.

Tiwari remarked, “Arvind Kejriwal is simply copying what the BJP has been doing in its states. He’s only now announcing support for women after being in power for 10 years without offering even a single rupee. If he genuinely intended to, the Rs 2,100 scheme could have been introduced earlier. Why wait until the end of his term?”

Earlier today, Kejriwal announced the launch of registration for two key initiatives: the ‘Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ and ‘Sanjeevani Yojana’, which will begin across Delhi tomorrow. Under the Mahila Samman Yojana, women in Delhi will receive Rs 2,100 per month. Kejriwal emphasised that the registration process will be convenient, with teams going door-to-door to assist women and provide registration cards.

Additionally, Kejriwal revealed that the Sanjeevani Yojana, aimed at covering medical treatment costs for senior citizens above 60, will also commence tomorrow. He stated, “The Delhi government will cover treatment costs for senior citizens at both private and government hospitals.”

Both schemes are expected to benefit around 35-40 lakh women and 15 lakh elderly individuals. Kejriwal added that having a Delhi voter ID card is essential for eligibility, and people can also check the status of their voter registration on the website.
