The Traffic Police authorities in Uttar Pradesh have made extensive arrangements to ensure smooth vehicular movement and the safety of devotees visiting the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, which begins on Monday. A comprehensive plan has been implemented to manage traffic and parking, as outlined by the Uttar Pradesh Information Department. This plan includes designated traffic diversions and specific parking areas for vehicles entering the Mela region.

For vehicles heading to the Mela, the entry route will be through Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (Black Road), while the exit route will be via Triveni Marg. During the key bathing festivals, the Akshayavat Darshan will remain closed to visitors. The parking arrangements have been made at various points depending on the origin of the vehicles.
Vehicles coming from Jaunpur will be parked at locations such as Chini Mill Parking, Purva Surdas Parking, Garapur Road, Samyamai Temple Kachar Parking, and Badra Saunoti Rahimapur Marg, among others. Devotees from Jaunpur will then walk via Old GT Road to reach the Mela. Similarly, vehicles from Varanasi will be directed to Mahua Bagh Police Station Jhusi Parking (Akhada Parking), Saraswati Parking, Jhusi Railway Station, Nageshwar Temple Parking, Gyan Ganga Ghat, and other designated lots. Devotees will walk through Chatnagar Road to enter the Mela.
Parking for vehicles from Mirzapur has been arranged at Devrakh Uparhar Parking, Tent City Parking, Gaziya Parking, and others, with pilgrims walking via Arail Bandh Road to reach the Mela. For vehicles arriving from Rewa, Banda, and Chitrakoot, parking will be available at Navprayagam Parking, Agricultural Institute Parking, and several other locations, from where devotees will walk through Old Rewa Road and New Rewa Road to access the Mela.
Vehicles from Kanpur and Kausambi will be directed to parking sites like Kali Extension Plot No. 17 Parking, Allahabad Degree College Ground Parking, and Dadhikando Ground Parking. Pilgrims from Lucknow and Pratapgarh will park at locations such as Gangeshwar Mahadev Kachar Parking and Nagvasuki Parking, walking via Nawas Ki Marg to the Mela. For those arriving from Ayodhya and Pratapgarh, parking will be available at Shiv Baba Parking, with pilgrims walking via Sangam Lower Marg to enter the Mela.
The entry route to the Sangam for devotees will be through GT Jawahar, Kali Road, and the Kali Ramp, leading to the Sangam Upper Route. The exit route will be through Akshayvat, and devotees will return via the Interlocking Return Route along Triveni Marg.
The Maha Kumbh will conclude on February 26, with significant bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) scheduled for January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami).
