Congress MP manifesto 2023: The Congress party on Tuesday released its manifesto for Madhya Pradesh ahead of the Assembly elections in the state. MPCC president Kamal Nath unveiled the party’s manifesto for the upcoming state assembly polls
The manifesto, spanning 106 pages, outlines an array of promises aimed at different sections of society. Notable pledges include providing a health insurance cover of Rs 25 lakh to all individuals in MP, implementing a 27 per cent reservation for OBCs, and even forming an IPL team for the state.
With a total of 59 promises, the Congress aims to address the concerns of farmers, women, and government employees. The manifesto presents a comprehensive plan to bring about positive change in Madhya Pradesh.
“We will provide health insurance cover of Rs 25 lakh, which also has an accidental cover of Rs 10 lakh, for all the people,” Nath said while releasing the manifesto.

The former Chief Minister further said that Madhya Pradesh will also have an Indian Premier League (IPL) team of the state. Nath also announced a waiver of farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh and assistance of Rs 1,500 per month to women. He also promised to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 500, and make school education free, implement the Old Pension Scheme and unemployment allowance for youth ranging from Rs 1,500 to 3,000 per month for two years.
Polling for 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled for a single phase on November 17, with the counting of votes scheduled to be held on December 3. The opposition party has currently announced its candidates for 144 out of the total 230 seats.
In the 2018 MP assembly elections, Congress emerged as the single largest party by winning 114 seats while the BJP was restricted to 109 seats. The Congress under Kamal Nath formed a government with the support of BSP, SP, and Independent MLAs.
However, the dispensation collapsed in March 2020 after many MLAs of Congress loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia quit the party and joined the rival BJP.
