Madhubani Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results Highlights: Madhubani, one of the 40 constituencies of Bihar, has a see a face-off between incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ashok Kumar Yadav, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Md Ali Ashraf Fatmi, contesting as part of the INDIA bloc. Voting in Madhubani took place on May 20 with a total voter turnout of 56.76 per cent. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Ashok Kumar Yadav of the BJP secured victory with 61.83% of the votes, defeating Badri Kumar Purbey of VIP.
Madhubani Bihar Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results Highlights:
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has concluded the vote counting of Madhubani and announced the winner of the 2024 Madhubani Lok Sabha elections. As per official reports, BJP has again swept seats in Madhubani making a second streak by winning with a margin of 151945 seats. Ashok Yadav has won 553428 seats today giving strong competition to RJD.
Ashok Kumar Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party secured 53.79 per cent of votes, out of 10,14,787 votes in Madhubani. In opposition, RJL's Md Ali Ashraf Fatmi secured 397046 votes, a share of 39.13 per cent, as per the latest trends by ECI.
The final official result will be declared by the Election Commission either late on the night of June 4 or on the morning of June 5.
As per the official ECI announcement, 4138 voters of Madhubani have voted for NOTA while 120627 have voted for BJP.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, in alliance with Janata Dal United, Lok Janshakti Party, Hindustani Awami Morcha, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha, contested the elections under the banner of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress, together with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, CPI Liberation, CPI(M), and CPI, competed as the INDIA Bloc.
BJP’s Hukm Deo Narayan Yadav formed the government in Madhuban with a very close win over RJD’s Abdul Bari Siddiqui. Both parties just had a difference of 20 thousand votes. In 2014, Madhubani had a total voter turnout of 52.9 per cent and 41.6 per cent voted for BJP.
As per the official ECI announcement, 187 voters of Madhubani have voted for NOTA while 5983 have voted for BJP.
Bihar is currently leading by Janata Dal (United) with a total of 13 seats in hand while BJP has secured 10 seats in Bihar.

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 in 40 Bihar constituency seats took place in seven phases. Polling in Madhubani was conducted on May 20 (fifth phase).
According to News18 exit polls, the BJP is expected to win 13-16 seats in Bihar, with the NDA alliance securing 31-34 seats. Nationally, the BJP is projected to win 305-315 out of 543 seats, with the NDA likely to secure 355-370 seats. The INC may win 62-72 seats, and the INDIA alliance 125-140 seats. Other parties are predicted to win 42-52 seats.
Fatmi, 67, has been a significant leader in the Mithilanchal region of Darbhanga and Madhubani, which has a substantial Muslim population. Similar to Siddiqui, Fatmi was regarded as the RJD's Muslim representative for a long time until the party denied him a ticket for Darbhanga or Madhubani in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
In March, the RJD-Congress Mahagathbandhan in Bihar unveiled a seat-sharing formula. Lalu's party will contest 26 of Bihar's 40 seats, the Congress will compete for nine seats, and the remaining five seats have been allocated to Left parties. Of these, three seats have been given to the CPIML, and one each to the CPI and CPM.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Madhubani had a total voter turnout of 53.81 per cent, that is 964706 votes. BJP won with a huge majority securing 62 per cent of the total votes.

The Bihar police convicted four people for casting bogus votes in Madhubani constituency on May 20. According to PTI, three days later, a mob of 130-140 people attacked the Jhale police station, freeing the convicted individuals.
For a long time, Madhubani has been a strong seat for Congress as it represented the constituency seven times.
BJP has fielded by Ashok Kumar Yadav, son of Hukuldev Narayan Yadav, a veteran socialist leader and former five-time MP from this seat. In opposition, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has fielded Md Ali Ashraf Fatmi. He has a political career of 15 years and has been a four-time MP from Darbhanga.
