Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 4 Voting Date and Time: After the conclusion of voting in three out of seven phases of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19, April 26, and May 7 respectively, the stage is all set for the fourth phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, which will take place on May 13. In the this phase, polling will take place across 96 Lok Sabha constituencies covering 10 states and one UT. Some major states such as Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand will cast their ballots in Phase 4. The vote counting will take place on June 4.

The fourth phase 18th general Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for May 13. Voting will commence at 7 AM and conclude at 5 PM.

In this phase, a total of 96 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 10 states and one union territory will go to polls. The states in the fourth phase are Andhra Pradesh (25), Bihar (5), Jammu and Kashmir (1), Jharkhand (4), Madhya Pradesh (8), Maharashtra (11), Odisha (4), Telangana (17), Uttar Pradesh (13), and West Bengal (8).

A total of 1,717 candidates from 10 states and union territories will contest in this phase. Across these regions, 4,264 nominations were filed for the 96 parliamentary constituencies. The deadline for filing nominations in all 10 states/UTs was April 25, 2024. Following scrutiny, 1,970 nominations were deemed valid.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 1, 2 and 3 – A Recap

After the culmination of phase three, the voter turnout touched 64.4 per cent, according to the Election Commission data, hinting at a significant fall compared to the 2019 elections where these constituencies saw turnout of 67.33 per cent. In the first phase, covering 102 constituencies, the final turnout was 66.14 per cent, highlighting a decrease of just under 4 percentage points compared to 2019. In the second phase, with 88 seats contested, the final turnout stood at 66.71 per cent, showing a decrease of approximately 3 percentage points from 2019.

According to the EC’s Voter Turnout app, Assam reported the highest turnout at 81.61 per cent, with four seats contested. Uttar Pradesh saw the lowest turnout at 57.34 per cent across 10 constituencies. These same constituencies had witnessed 60.01 per cent polling in 2019. Bihar recorded a turnout of 58.18 per cent across five constituencies, while Gujarat, with 25 out of 26 constituencies voting (the BJP winning Surat unopposed), observed a polling percentage of 58.98 per cent. In 2019, Gujarat had a turnout of 64.5 per cent.

Maharashtra observed a turnout of 61.44 per cent across 11 constituencies. Apart from Gujarat, polling concluded in Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Karnataka, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu on Tuesday. In the first two phases, polling was completed in 14 states and Union territories.
