In the 2014 Assembly elections, JPC BASHIR AHMAD DAR won from the Kupwara garnering 24754 votes. BASHIR AHMAD DAR defeated JKPDP MIR MOHD FAYAZ who got 24603 votes. The JPC secured 34.47% of total votes.
