Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took a direct dig at the Opposition’s INDIA bloc, accusing them of nepotism and corruption during his public address in Adilabad, Telangana. ‘Mera Bharat, Mera Parivaar’, he said, emphasising that the 140 crore people in the country are his family.
PM Modi claimed that his life is an open book and he considers the 140 crore people of the country as his family. “Today, crores of daughters, mothers and sisters of the country are Modi’s family. Every poor person in the country is my family. Those who have no one, they also belong to Modi and Modi belongs to them. They say ‘Nene Modi Kutumbam’ (I’m Modi family),” he said.

Reaffirming his dedication to serving the people, he recounted leaving home at a young age with the dream of contributing to society.
Attacking “dynasty parties” and “parivarvaad” in the country, PM Modi said they may have different faces, but “jhooth and loot (lies and plunder)” were common to their character. “The face of dynasty parties may be different but they have a similar character–jhoot and loot (lies and loot),” he said.

“The leaders of the INDI alliance, deeply engrossed in corruption, nepotism and appeasement, are becoming nervous. When I question their ‘Parivarvad’, they have started saying that Modi has no family,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came in reference to a dig by Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav during a rally on the INDIA bloc on Bihar’s Patna.
“What can we do if Narendra Modi does not have a family of his own?” Lalu said in response to the Prime Minister’s charge of dynasty politics against Opposition parties, including RJD. “He keeps bragging about the Ram temple. He is not even a true Hindu. In Hindu tradition, a son must shave his head and beard after the death of his parents. Modi did not do so when his mother died,” Lalu said in his address yesterday.
Taking on the BJP’s political opponents in Telangana, the PM said that although the TRS had transformed into the BRS, there had been no substantial change. He accused the ruling Congress of inertia, alleging that they were “sitting on files instead of taking action”.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), founded by K Chandrasekhar Rao, governed the state for nearly a decade until late 2023, and subsequently underwent a renaming to become the Bharat Rashtra Samiti.
During his address, the Prime Minister listed several developmental works undertaken in the past 15 days in the country, aiming to strengthen ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ towards ‘Viksit Bharat’. He also mentioned detailed discussions held with all his ministers and top officials in New Delhi on a Sunday about an action plan for a developed India.
Modi further underlined his party’s welfare of Adivasis and said highest priority was being accorded in this connection.
The “dynasty parties” could not stand the work his government was doing for the welfare of Adivasis. The “Sammakka-Sarakka” central tribal university to be established in the state was a proof of his government’s priority for Adivasi welfare, he added.
Additionally, he reiterated “Modi’s Guarantee” for development across the country, stating that the successful implementation of various initiatives, according to him, substantiates the assurance that “Modi’s guarantee will be fulfilled”.
