International Yoga Day 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from Vishakhapatnam on the 11th International Yoga Day 2025. Marking eleven years since its commencement, PM Modi shared his elation that, “when India proposed June 21 to be celebrated as International Yoga day, in short time 175 countries accepted it”.
He emphasised how “Yoga is for everyone, beyond boundaries, backgrounds, age or ability”.
“Let this Yoga Day mark the beginning of Yoga for humanity 2.0, where inner peace becomes global policy,” he said at the event which is being celebrated across the world with the theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”. Celebrated across 190 countries and over 1 lakh celebrations planned, the IYD 2025 is a global phenomenon.
“Yoga has now become part of the lives of crores of people around world,” PM Modi said at the mega event, which was held along a 26-kilometre stretch from Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam to Bhogapuram. “Whether Sydney Opera House or Everest mountain or span of ocean, message is yoga is for everyone,” said PM Modi. Visuals from Navy officials to ITBP officers surface as they celebrate this union of peace, humanity and activity.
PM Modi said, “Yoga leads us on a journey towards oneness with world,” when speaks of the tumultuous time. “Yoga is pause button that humanity needs to breath, balance to become whole again,” he added.
He also addressed the nation about the growing concern for obesity among people across the world. Urging people to be active, eat less junk food, and practice yoga, he led the celebrations in Vishakhapatnam.
Furthermore, a postage stamp was also released ahead of his address which commemorates the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025. The celebrations were also addressed by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu at the RK Beach. Along with him were, Union Minister of State (IC) Ayush and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav.
