The national capital will see mainly clear skies while the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to settle around 13 and 32 degrees Celsius respectively, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) mentioned.
On Monday, Delhi’s maximum temperature rose to 31.4 degrees Celsius, which is the highest in March so far this year, as per the MeT department.
The temperature will remain the same today but may decrease on Wednesday due to the possibility of light rain and cloudy skies, Scientist and head of the local weather office Kuldeep Srivastava said.
According to IMD data, Monday’s maximum temperature was three notches above the season’s normal while on Sunday, the national capital saw a high of 28.4 degrees Celsius.
Notably, the highest temperature recorded in March 2023 was 33.9 degrees Celsius, while in 2022, it was 39.6 degrees Celsius.
Fresh western disturbance
Due to a fresh western disturbance from tonight, isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall are likely in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand till March 14.
Rainfall forecast
Regions like Punjab, north Haryana, Chandigarh, Northwest Uttar Pradesh, and West Rajasthan will experience rainy conditions on March 13.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh will witness rain spells for the next few days.
Isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall and snowfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during the next 7 days. Further rainfall is predicted in northeastern states like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from March 13-15.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over Kerala & Mahe during the next 2 days and over Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during the next 3 days.
