The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that a western disturbance may affect the Western Himalayan Regions from December 7 and the nearby plains of Northwest India from December 8. These weather conditions are expected to result in moderate spells and snowfall in the Western Himalayan region between December 7 and 9. The plains of Northwest India are predicted to experience similar weather patterns on December 8.

Dense Fog prediction in Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh

The Met Department has alerted that it is anticipated to have dense fog conditions in isolated places of Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh during the night and early morning hours from December 7 to 9.

Temperature patterns across regions

Northwest India: The minimum temperatures are expected to decline slowly by 2-3 degrees Celsius for the next three days.

Gujarat Region: Temperature conditions are expected to be stable for two days and it will later decline to 2-4 degrees Celsius.

East India: Minimum temperatures are expected to dip by 3-4 degrees Celsius for the next three days.

Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast

As per the Weather Department notification, the sky is likely to remain clear, with northwest winds will flow at less than 10 km/h during the morning time.  Smog and mist are expected to be present during morning and evening hours.

Record heat in Mumbai

The financial capital of India recorded the hottest December in the last 16 years, as the maximum temperature went up to 37.3 degrees Celsius at the Santacruz observatory. Colaba measured to be a little lower by 35 degrees Celsius.

Warmer Winter for Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is forecast to have a warmer winter this season, after experiencing the driest November in the last 100 years. The cold wave days are anticipated to decline by 10-20 percent from December to February.  

Chilly weather in Kashmir

The night temperature in Kashmir suddenly went down on Wednesday, as the minimum temperatures at several places were recorded to be below freezing point. The IMD department has predicted that the weather may continue to be dry from December 5 to December 7. A further fall in the night temperatures might occur during nighttime, whereas during daytime temperatures are likely to be warmer.
