The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested Sahdev Singh Gohil on allegations of sharing classified information about the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) with Pakistan.

Gohil, a multipurpose health worker based in Kachchh, was summoned for a preliminary inquiry on May 1. During questioning, the ATS learned that he had come into contact with a woman named Aditi Bharadwaj via WhatsApp around June-July 2023.
“While speaking to her, he came to know that she was a Pakistani agent. She asked for photos and videos of the BSF and IAF sites, which were under construction or newly constructed. He started sharing photos and videos through WhatsApp,” SP Siddharth said.
In early 2025, Gohil reportedly purchased a SIM card using his Aadhaar credentials and activated WhatsApp on it for Bharadwaj. “At the beginning of 2025, he bought a SIM card on his Aadhaar Card and activated WhatsApp on that number for Aditi Bharadwaj with the help of OTP,” Siddharth stated.
The same number was later used to send photos and videos concerning BSF and IAF infrastructure to the Pakistani agent. According to ATS, Gohil received Rs 40,000 in cash from an unidentified individual, suspected to be part of a broader espionage ring.
“His phone was sent to the FSL. The WhatsApp numbers under Aditi Bharadwaj’s name were being operated from Pakistan,” Siddharth added.
A case has been filed against Gohil and the Pakistani agent under Sections 61 and 148 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The arrest is part of a wider ATS operation targeting anti-national elements, especially those with suspected links to Pakistan.
Pakistani spies arrested in India
In a related development, Jyoti Malhotra, a 33-year-old YouTuber from Haryana, was recently arrested on espionage charges. Malhotra, known for her travel vlogs, was allegedly in contact with Pakistani intelligence agents, including Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a staffer at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi who was expelled earlier this month.
Other individuals arrested in the same network include Guzala from Punjab, a self-styled healer, a factory worker, a student, and some security personnel, all suspected of passing sensitive information to Pakistan.
Of the people arrested so far, six are from Punjab, five from Haryana, and one from Uttar Pradesh. Authorities believe the network was involved in relaying classified military intelligence and aiding espionage activities connected to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
