Ahmedabad based Havmor Ice Cream has announced its entry in New Delhi and North India. The brand will be investing ₹ 100 crores over the next 36 months which include a new manufacturing facility in Faridabad with a production capacity of one lakh litres of ice cream per day.

Speaking about the Delhi market, Pradeep Chona, chairman and managing director, Havmor Ice Cream, said, “We are happy to announce Havmor’s eighth market in India. In order to win the market, we will be specially introducing some flavours inspired by Delhi. We are confident that by the end of the year, Havmor will be in every part of the city and people would be aware about the brand.”

Talking to Food & Hospitality World about the brands’ entry in Delhi market, Ankit Chona, managing director, Havmor Ice Cream, said, “Delhi is a huge market with some dominant players, we have come with a strategic plan in place. As part of our expansion, we are planning to open 10 exclusive ice cream parlours in New Delhi by June 2016 and another 25 by the end of the year. We have over 160 varieties available and come up with special flavours every three months. The ice cream industry in India is expected to grow to ₹ 7000 crore by 2018 and I wish to make Havmor the most preferred brand in the market.”

The group has grown to ₹ 400 crore in the last fiscal year and aims to increase the turnover to ₹ 1000 crore by 2020. The brand is available across the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Goa and Telangana, and is gradually presence increasing in key markets like Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
