The Maharashtra police have arrested actress Shabreen, known for her roles in TV shows like ‘Crime Patrol’, in connection with the kidnapping of a three-and-a-half-year-old boy in Palghar district. The Waliv police confirmed the arrest on Sunday, reported ANI.
Shabreen was reportedly in a romantic relationship with Brijesh Singh, the boy’s uncle. However, due to caste and religious differences, Brijesh’s family opposed their marriage. According to Senior Officer Jayaraj Ranawane, Shabreen was deeply infatuated with Brijesh, leading her to act impulsively despite her experience portraying crime-related roles on screen.
The incident took place on Saturday when Shabreen picked up the boy, Prince, from his school, claiming she was taking him for medical treatment. The boy willingly went with her as he recognized her. When Prince did not return home by the afternoon, his family contacted the school, only to learn that he had left with a woman who said she was taking him to the doctor.
CCTV footage revealed Shabreen leaving with the child in an auto-rickshaw, accompanied by another unidentified woman. After tracking Shabreen’s location through her mobile phone, the police arrested her in Bandra. The boy was found in a flat in Naigaon and safely rescued.
The police are continuing their investigation into Brijesh Singh’s involvement in the kidnapping and are also searching for the unknown female accomplice seen with Shabreen during the incident.
