BSP Lok Sabha MP from Ambedkarnagar Ritesh Pandey on Sunday said that he is resigning from the party’s primary membership, just months ahead of the upcoming general elections.
In his resignation letter, addressed to BSP president Mayawati, he said that neither has he been called for meetings for a long time nor has the party leadership spoken to him, despite making numerous events.
“Ever since I entered public life through BSP, I got your guidance, support from party officials and grassroots level workers of the party taught me to walk in the corridors of politics and society by holding my finger at every step. The party provided me the opportunity to represent in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha. The party also gave me the opportunity to work as the leader of the parliamentary party in the Lok Sabha,” he said in his letter.
“For a long time, neither am I being called to attend party meetings nor has the party leadership spoken to me. I have made numerous attempts to contact you and to meet top officials, but they have yielded no results. During this period, I continued to meet party workers and supporters in my area and elsewhere and remained engaged in field work. In such a situation, I have come to the conclusion that the party no longer needs my service and presence,” Pandey added.
“Therefore, I have no option other than resigning from the primary membership of the party. This decision to break ties with the party is an emotionally difficult decision.”
“Through this letter, I resign from the primary membership of Bahujan Samaj Party,” he added.
The MP also requested party supremo Mayawati to accept his resignation immediately.
