Ayodhya Ram Temple security arrangement: Ahead of the consecration ceremony tomorrow, a multi-layer security arrangement is in place in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya for the much-awaited event at the Ram temple, with 10,000 CCTVs keeping an eye on the movement of people. Several eminent people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, will be present at the event. Along with them, the invitees in the event include several leading business tycoons, film personalities, as well as politicians and sportspersons.
Speaking about the security arrangements, Uttar Pradesh Police Special Director General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar that seven companies of CAPF, two anti-drone systems, and two NSG sniper teams have been deployed in the city, as per the demands from the Central Home Ministry, reports The Indian Express.
For the grand consecration day, 17 police superintendents, 24 assistant superintendents of police (IPS 2020-21 batch), 44 additional superintendents of police, 140 police deputy superintendents, 208 inspectors, 1196 sub-inspectors, 83 assistant sub-inspectors, 4,350 police officers, 590 constables, 16 traffic inspectors, 130 traffic sub-inspectors, 325 traffic officials, 540 traffic constables, and 26 PAC companies along with additional police officers have already allotted in Ayodhya, he said.
Along with them, 40 sub-inspectors, 150 officials, 30 women constables and one company PAC from the Government Railway Police (GRP) have been deployed in the temple town on Ayodhya.
The state government has also requested for 25 VR cars, 10 vehicle-mounted jammers, and six vehicle-mounted X Ray baggage scanners, the top cop said.
From Dharampath and Rampath in Ayodhya, which are witnessing a huge influx of devotees, to bylanes of the Hanumangarhi area and Asharfi Bhavan road, policemen can be seen patrolling the streets. Cops of the Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) are also conducting patrolling in Ayodhya on Saturday, reports PTI.
Movable barriers with barbed wires attached to it can be spotted virtually at every prominent crossing in the city, as policemen use them to regulate traffic especially during VVIP movements.
For better security arrangements technology is being used on a large scale, and 10,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire Ayodhya district. “In some of these CCTV cameras, we are using AI-based technology so that we can maintain a strict vigil on commuters,” the DG said.
Strict checking are being done along the India-Nepal border by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). “In Kushinagar district, because there is no deployment of SSB, duty has been fixed under one Inspector General-rank officer,” Kumar said.
The top cop said that the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Special Task Force (STF), Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Intelligence Department have been asked to maintain coordination.
For smooth flow of traffic to Ayodhya on January 22, green corridors have been established on all five highways leading to Ayodhya. An integrated control and command centre has been established where senior officers from different departments have been deployed.
