He has garnered 99,776 votes against his rival Muppi Seetharam Reddy of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) who polled 18,116 votes. BJP candidate Kowdi Mahender has polled 16,414 votes. Akbaruddin Owaisi has emerged victorious in the Chandrayangutta constituency for five consecutive elections from 1999 to 2018. In 2019, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Telangana Public Accounts Committee. Counting in the Sircilla constituency began at 8 AM. The results were declared after the completion of 23 rounds of counting.
