An Air India flight bound for London crashed during takeoff at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday, June 12. The incident occurred as Flight AI171 was departing for London Gatwick.
Thick plumes of smoke were visible from the site of the crash, prompting immediate emergency response. Fire tenders rushed to the spot, and rescue operations were underway at the time of filing this report.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state’s Home Minister, and Ahmedabad Police Commissioner following the crash. Shah assured that the Central government will provide all necessary assistance.
