Situated in Southern Alaska and popularly associated with ‘Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes’, Katmai National Park and Preserve is known for Alaskan brown bear habitat. The park was established in 1918 with an aim to safeguard the volcanically devastated region around Mount Katmai.
